NHS Fife Nutrition and Dietetics

Managing your diet, lifestyle and medication is important in the treatment of diabetes. This will allow you to get on with what matters to you.

You may have already made some changes to your diet and lifestyle, based on information you have been given or found. This is one of the most important things you can do to stay in the best of health.  You are the person who will decide how to look after your diabetes, along with help from family or friends and your healthcare team.  Dietitians are experts in nutrition.  They apply science and evidence to your individual circumstances. They aim to prevent or treat disease and improve your health and wellbeing.  They will work with you to explore what matters to you most.  A plan will be formed that will support you to make appropriate lifestyle and food choices.
